NEWS RELEASE

Saturday January 21st, 2006

     Crawford County Sheriff, Kirk A. Wakefield states that on Saturday January 21st, 2006 at 8:39pm that a snowmobile accident with injuries had occurred on North Big Creek Road north of County Rd 612 in Lovell's Township, northeast Crawford County Michigan.

     Upon arrival it was found that a snowmobile had hit a tree and the driver was deceased. Investigation shows that the snowmobile came off the east side of North Big Creek Rd and hit a tree. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.

               Agencies involved and assisting at the scene: Crawford County Sheriff's Office, Lovell's Township Fire Department, Frederic Township EMS, and the Crawford County Medical Examiners Office.     

The victim has been identified as:
David Terrell Coffey 59 y/o, of Pegram, TN
