Crawford County Sheriff Kirk Wakefield states that on June 20, 2006 at approximately 6:34 am, Deputy’s were dispatched to a personal injury accident located on East M-72 near Stephan Bridge Road in Grayling Township, Crawford County. The vehicles involved in the accident were a Crawford County Transit Authority Bus and a mini van. There were five subjects on the bus including the operator. The operator of the mini van was the only subject in that vehicle. The cause of the accident is believed that the driver of the mini van being a local resident of Grayling MI fell asleep and crossed the centerline. One subject from the Transit Bus was transported to Grayling Mercy Hospital to be evaluated and the driver of the mini van was also transported to Grayling Mercy Hospital to be evaluated as well. The accident still remands under investigation pending medical reports and issue of citations.
