Crawford County Sheriff Kirk Wakefield states that at approximately 12:07 a.m. this morning, a 911 call was taken by Crawford County Central Dispatch reference a family dispute in South Branch Township. During the investigation, a fifty-seven year-old male subject went into cardiac arrest. Deputies on scene utilized the AED (automated external defibrillator.) A Mobile Medical Response (MMR) EMS unit arrived on the scene and stabilized the subject and transported him to Mercy Hospital Emergency Room in Grayling and later transported to Munson Medical in Traverse City. EMT’s and medical personnel at Mercy Hospital stated that the AED used by Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputies saved the subject’s life.
