200 West Michigan Avenue
Grayling Michigan 49738NEWS RELEASE
May 3rd, 2007
Crawford County Sheriff Kirk Wakefield states that on Thursday, May 3rd, 2007 at approximately 6:34 p.m., Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a rollover accident reported on Interstate 75 just north of mile marker 248..
The initial report to Central Dispatch stated a vehicle had rolled over and was on its roof in the center median with one person in the vehicle. The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle. She was discovered still restrained in her seat belt while upside down. Due to the vehicle rolling multiple times and striking a tree, it is believed that the seat belt prevented more serious injuries or death occurring.
Units from the Beaver Creek Township Fire Department, MMR (Mobile Medical Response EMS Units) extricated the 55 year old female from Kewadin, Michigan from her vehicle. She was transported to Grayling Mercy Hospital via a MMR EMS unit.
The accident is still under investigation, a seat belt was worn, and alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
