Crawford County Sheriff Kirk Wakefield states that on June 6th, 2007 at 0012 hours, Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Roberta Drive in South Branch Township. The homeowner called central dispatch and advised the dispatcher that an unknown person had broken into her residence.
While deputies were enroute, the called informed dispatch that the unknown person was attempting to get into both her children's bedroom, and her own. Crawford Deputies contacted the Houghton Lake MSP and the Roscommon County Sheriff's Office to assist with the B & E.
When Deputies arrived, they made entry into the residence and located an 18 year old male from Roscommon inside the residence. He was taken into custody without further incident. The was transported to the Crawford County Jail where he was lodged on home invasion and MIP alcohol charges.
The Crawford County Sheriffs Office was assisted by the MSP Houghton Lake Post and the Roscommon County Sheriff's Office.
