Crawford County Sheriff Kirk Wakefield states that on Friday August 31st, 2007 at approximately 10:20 pm Deputies were dispatched to a roll-over accident on S. Oak Rd. between Dort Rd. and Fletcher Rd. in Beaver Creek Township. Upon the arrival of MMR (Mobile Medical Response EMS Unit) paramedics the crash was determined to have one fatality.
The accident was a single vehicle roll-over in which the vehicle struck several trees before coming to rest on its roof. The victim was wearing a seat belt and the airbag did deploy. It is unknow if alcohol was a factor in the accident. The victim, Mandy Childs, 31 y/o of Roscommon was pronounced dead at the scene.
Responding to the scene were Crawford County Sheriff's Deputies, The Beaver Creek Township Fire Department and a MMR EMS unit. The accident remains under investigation.
