NEWS RELEASE

September 25th, 2007

     Crawford County Sheriff Kirk Wakefield states that on Tuesday September 25th,  2007  at approximately 9:56 pm Officers from the Crawford County Sheriff's Office as well as Emergency Service Personnel from the Grayling City and Township Fire Dept, South Branch Township Fire Dept / EMS and  MMR (Mobile Medical Response EMS)  responded to a reported injury accident on M-72 east of Wakeley Bridge Rd. Upon arrival, officers found a two vehicle accident.
The occupants of both vehicles required extrication from their vehicles by Fire Rescue personnel. 3 injured persons were transported to Grayling Mercy Hospital by ground EMS and one person was airlifted by a Life Net Helicopter from the scene.

Driver of Vehicle 1 :
Rusell Edward Cummer 704 North Dort Hwy Mt Morris MI
This subject was transported to Grayling Mercy Hospital and later transported to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI by North Flight Ambulance. The driver left ICU on October 3rd, 2007

Driver of Vehicle 2 :
Dino John Pizzino 703 58th St Alpena, MI
This subject was transported to a hospital in Grand Rapids and remains in the ICU as of this date.
