Crawford County Sheriff Kirk Wakefield reports that at approximately 4:51pm,  Deputy Ryan Swope observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 75 at a high rate of speed. This vehicle passed the marked patrol unit in excess of 100 miles per hour. Deputy Swope activated his overhead lights and siren and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle attempted to flee east on County Road 612, doubled back and returned NB on I-75. The vehicle attempted to exit at the Waters Rd exit from I-75, lost control while cornering and went into the ditch. The total pursuit covered 20 miles and lasted 11 minutes. The subject was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of Fleeing and Eluding, possession of narcotics, reckless driving and speeding.
