Crawford County Sheriff Kirk Wakefield states that on September 12th, 2008 at approximately 1156 hours, Deputies were dispatched to North Down River Road near Wilcox Bridge Road for a fatal semi truck accident. The driver was identified as a 39 year old Kalkaska man who was the sole occupant of the semi, and was pronounced dead on the scene. The accident is still under investigation. Crawford County Sheriffs Deputies were assisted on the scene by Grayling City/Twp Fire Department, Mobile Medical Response EMS Units, and Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Officers
Update - The driver has been identified as Isiah John Long, 39 y/o from Cadillac. The relatives have been notified and the accident remains under inverstigation.
