Sheriff Kirk A. Wakefield states on Monday, November 3, 2008 at approximately 10:57 p.m. Central Dispatch (911) received a call, which was transferred from Roscommon County 911, indicating a subject had been struck by a train that was traveling northbound at a remote section of tracks near the south end of Crawford County. Upon the arrival of the Deputies and Assistant Medical Examiner personnel found the subject still breathing and immediately administered CPR, requested an ambulance but to no avail. The subject died at the scene. The name of the victim is being with held pending family notification
