NEWS RELEASE

Saturday February 14th, 2009

 

Sheriff Kirk A. Wakefield states on Friday February 13th, 2009 at approximately 8:04 PM, a single vehicle accident was reported to have occurred at the intersection of M-18 and F-97 in South Branch Township. Upon arrival it was determined that a 2008 Dodge Nitro had missed the corner and rolled over landing in the ditch. The driver was deceased at the scene. The driver Mark Douglas Stevenson 49 y/o of Grayling was alone in the vehicle. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, and the seat belt was not worn. Agencies assisting: South Branch Township Fire and EMS, Frederic Township EMS.

02/15/2009 - UPDATE

The deceased driver Stevenson was a part time Grayling resident and commuted to his workplace in Davisburg, Michigan.
