Crawford County Sheriff Kirk Wakefield states that on Tuesday September 8th, 2009 at approximately 2:34 PM. A male jail inmate had been transported to the Dentist for treatment. He fled the dental clinic on foot. A search is occurring at this moment by multiple agencies including the Crawford County Sheriff's Office, Otsego County Sheriff's Office, MSP Houghton Lake, Gaylord, Traverse City and K-9 units. Subject is wearing 'jail blues' and handcuffed in front.
