Crawford County Sheriff Kirk A. Wakefield says that the search continues for escaped inmate Timothy Wayne Round, W/M, 11-8-1966. Round escaped from Sheriff’s Office custody during treatment at a Grayling dentist office off Hartwick Pines Road on Tuesday September 8, 2009 at 2:34 p.m. The inmate fled on foot into a wooded area North of M-93 (Hartwick Pines Road) near I-75. He is wearing navy blue jail pants and shirt and a white tee shirt with blue slip on type tennis shoes and was handcuffed.
A search by Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputies, Michigan State Police Troopers along with their K-9’s, and a search from the air by the US Coast Guard helicopter failed to locate the escapee during the evening and night hours. The search continues Wednesday morning September 9, 2009 by “ALL” area State and Local Law Enforcement agencies.Timothy Round is from the Grayling/Frederic area and should be considered very dangerous at this time. He was being held in the Crawford County Jail for Burglary/Home Invasion, Resisting and Obstructing officers, and Probation Violations. Round is described as a white male, 5’11, 160 lbs., brown eyes, and dark brown hair. He has a thin build, short “butch” haircut, with no facial hair at this time.
