NEWS BRIEF

Crawford County Sheriff Kirk Wakefield  states that the August 13 robbery investigation at the B&B Market/gas station in Frederic has ended with the arrest of three people. Arrested on a total of 8 felony counts was the store clerk at the time Mac Morrow age 19.  Morrow was charged with Larceny in a building, Conspiracy to commit larceny in a building, false report of a felony along with 5 counts of illegal use of financial transaction device (credit card).  Matthew Montgomery age 20 was charged with seven felony counts including Larceny in a building, conspiracy to commit a larceny in a building, 5 counts of illegal use of a financial transaction device (credit card) and one misdemeanor charge of Breaking and entering a vehicle.  Joshua Boonie  age 19 was charged with Larceny in a building and conspiracy to commit a larceny in a building. All lived in Frederic area at the time of the incident.  The investigation of the Robbery was later connected to a purse being stolen from a vehicle in Frederic.  A credit card stolen from the purse was used several times at the B&B market. Witnesses lead officers to the three subjects who were later contacted.  All three during interviews gave confessions and permission to search.  Money, cigarettes, tequila bottle, bolt cutters, and fillet knife were recovered. Deputies learned that the three planned the staged robbery the night before and by use of their cell phones and text messages with the store clerk Morrow, they knew when to arrive at the store.
