NEWS BRIEF

Crawford County Sheriff Kirk Wakefield  states that on Friday, June 11th, 2010 at approx. 11:54 pm, Crawford County Sheriff Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident on North Bound I-75, south of County Road 612, located in Grayling Twp.

Upon arrival at the scene, Deputies found that the passenger in the vehicle (a 63 year old man from Louisville, Kentucky) had died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.   The driver lost control of the vehicle in heavy rain, then ran off the roadway and struck several trees.

 

The female driver of the vehicle (also from Louisville, Kentucky) was transported to Grayling Mercy Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.   The accident remains under investigation.   Weather, speed, and a failure to wear a seatbelt are believed to be factors in this crash.

 

Crawford County Sheriffs Deputies were assisted by M.M.R. (Mobile Medical Response) EMS units, Michigan State Police, and the Grayling Fire Department.
